Overview
The hs² design studio, consisting of two designers (Lee Han-sol and Kim Hyeon-seok), makes products based on its slogan of ‘a wave of emotions from small impressions.’ Based upon a single narrative of a baby bird in search of its mother, the “Journey of a Baby Bird” series features five products—a salad bowl, a diffuser set, a soy sauce dish and a storage for accessories, a gift box, and a candle holder. Various dishes and spoons, notable for their beautiful curvature, represent the baby bird and its mother. The soy sauce dish and accessories case express the shape of a dolphin jumping out of water in an attempt to save the baby bird. The candle holder can be used with three different background canvases, all based upon the motif of an ocean scenery during the sunset. The five products stand on their own beautifully and can also be part of a romantic narrative with a continuity, making it all the more special. A 15-shot storyboard card made in collaboration with the cartoonist Kim Dong Beom accompanies the products.
