The character Little Diver Mongni is a Korean character created based on the Culture of Jeju Haenyeo (literal translation being a sea woman, referring to a female diver who dive into the ocean water to gather various shellfish, seaweed, etc, without using any underwater diving equipment), which has been inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage and recognized as a valuable intangible cultural asset of Korea.
